The HSPD 6609 VulcanShield™ Fireproof Orange & Aluminized Back Edition is built for heavy-duty industrial welding, metal smelting, casting, and high-heat foundry operations where intense radiant heat is a constant hazard. This specialized safety glove features a radiant-heat reflective aluminized back-of-hand that shields the back of the hand and forearm from extreme thermal radiation, deflecting heat away before it penetrates the glove.
The front palm, thumb, and lower sleeve back are constructed from heat-treated, flame-resistant burnt orange split suede cowhide, providing exceptional mechanical grip, abrasion resistance, and defense against direct sparks and molten spatter. Inside, a soft thermal fleece lining cushions the hand against conductive heat transfer, while a sturdy denim lining backs the extended gauntlet cuff to maintain sleeve structure and manage wrist moisture. All critical structural seams are welted with protective leather piping and bound tightly using 100% flame-resistant Kevlar thread.
Engineered to minimize operator fatigue, the glove features an angled wing thumb pattern that contours naturally to the hand at rest. The extended safety gauntlet provides full forearm coverage and is neatly finished with a clean self-leather turned hem to prevent fraying and edge splitting.
